John Robinson, the spokesman for the Seaside Co. (that operates the Santa Cruz Boardwalk), will head a new Sacramento-based trade association that represents amusement parks statewide, including Disneyland. The California Attractions and Parks Association represents 126 entertainment businesses and a $17 billion industry statewide. Since the association formed six months ago, Robinson, 45, has served as its board chairman. The group may learn how to best deal with state regulations and lobby as one voice to help cut insurance and other costs, said Robinson.
