Roller Coaster Tycoon expansion hits store shelves

The second expansion pack for Chris Sawyer's Roller Coaster Tycoon, called Loopy Landscapes, has shipped to retailers. The game has held a position in PC Data's charts almost since its initial release in March of 1999. The first expansion pack, Corkscrew Follies, has enjoyed similar success.

The new package includes thirty new scenarios, including simulations of real-life parks like Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. New rides include a Huss Enterprise, Vekoma-style suspended looping coasters, a flume-coaster hybrid, an S&S-style "Thrust Air" coaster, four-across inverted coasters, and more. The most expansive additions come in the form of new theme options.

While the expansion does not include a "sandbox" mode, where players may freely build until they drop, several scenarios facilitate nearly the same thing.
