Protesters disagree with importation of orca to Six Flags Marine World

Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo is trying to import a captive Argentine orca, angering marine-mammal advocates who say the whale should swim free. Six Flags revealed its intention to apply for a federal application to import "Kshamenk," a male orca captured in 1992 in Patagonia, in a July 14 letter to the National Marine Fisheries Service, the federal agency that oversees the international trade in whales, dolphins and other marine mammals.
