New Georgia park developer has long road to overcome bankruptcy

Developers have begun clearing land for the Grand Empire at Fun World, a huge amusement park complex proposed for south DeKalb County. But they still have a long way to go before the project becomes reality. The developers, Top Flight Development Group, say they are trying to secure funds to build their planned $675 million hotel/water park/condo complex. But the developers are still in bankruptcy after defaulting on a $6.3 million loan to buy the site. They must pay back $500,000 of the debt by Jan. 1.
