Mayor wants city to buy Visionland

Bessemer Mayor Quitman Mitchell said Thursday that VisionLand will open in early June and said the city should buy the park for less than bondholders' $25 million asking price. The mayor hopes to gain control of the park through a combination of open board seats and the resignation of the current chairman.
