Lawsuits and other problems have kept the park closed this summer for the first time in nearly 50 years. The owners have set a May 2007 deadline to try to save the amusement park, said Scott Goodman, a principal with Sterling Bay Cos., a Chicago developer that bought the 40-acre property in May 2005. The company paid $5.6 million for the land, according to the Dundee Township assessor's office.
