Lake Compounce has submitted a proposal that would see Mount Vernon Road moved 200 to 300 feet east to enable the theme park to expand by 15 to 20 percent. Lake Compounce would double the size of its water park, according to Gerard Brick, director of park operations. It needs at least one public hearing and a number of board and commission approvals, as well as approval from the Army Corps of Engineers, to become reality.
