Kings Dominion to retire Shockwave stand-up roller coaster this summer

Shockwave — Kings Dominion’s stand-up roller coaster – will be retired this summer. The final ride will take place August 9. Kings Dominion said it planned to shutdown the roller coaster in order to expand the Candy Apple Grove section of the theme park where the Shockwave has thrilled riders since 1986.
