Injured manatee might not make it after rescue to Sea World Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue personnel, working alongside Florida Fish & Wildlife marine biologists, rescued a severely injured manatee from a Merritt Island lagoon Monday afternoon. The 7-foot-long female manatee's tail was slashed and scarred and the animal had lost its right flipper. Residents of the Catalina Isle development notified animal rescue agencies Sunday night. But the animal's rescue had to wait until Monday.
