SANTA CLAUS, IN-----More than $14,600 was donated to The Rehabilitation Center of Evansville this morning, during Holiday World’s 11th Annual “Play Day” for the Tri-State’s children with mental and physical disabilities.

“Today, we open the park for the invited guests of The Rehabilitation Center,” says Holiday World President Will Koch. “This is a very special day for us and we look forward to hosting these wonderful children each year.”

Holiday World is donating the day’s admission proceeds to The Rehabilitation Center for the creation of more than 500 therapy scholarships for local children with disabilities. The admission price for “Play Day” is a $7.00 donation to The Rehab Center.

“At Holiday World, we strive to be a park where children and adults with physical and mental disabilities can feel comfortable and safe, and have a really good time,” says Koch. “On Play Day, we open our gates to 2,000 very special Guests—who enjoy our rides, shows, games, attractions—and even visit with Santa.”

Holiday World has published an Accessibility Guide, in cooperation with The Rehabilitation Center, which describes the theme and water parks’ rides so that Guests with disabilities may decide ahead of time which rides are suitable for them. The Accessibility Guides are available at Guest Relations, on the parks’ website: http://www.holidayworld.com/access.html, or by calling the Holiday World office toll-free at 1-877-Go-Family.

Over the past 11 years, Holiday World’s Play Day has raised more than $105,000 for The Rehabilitation Center.

Holiday World will be open to the public on May 15 and 16. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari will be open daily beginning May 17. For more information, visit www.holidayworld.com or call 1-877-Go-Family or 812-937-4401.
