Granville Trimper, resort patriarch and steward of his family's 118-year-old amusement park, died early Monday at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was 79. He was the vice president and manager of Trimper's Rides, the family business founded in 1890 that brought a renowned carousel to the Boardwalk in 1902 and added outdoor rides in the 1950s.
