Alaska Presley bid $1.5 million for the 288-acre mountaintop Ghost Town in The Sky property at auction Friday on the steps of the Haywood County Courthouse, said Mark Clasby, executive director of the county Economic Development Commission. She will become the owner if no higher bids are made in the foreclosure auction. Presley earlier bought debts owed on the property and is using the foreclosure process to gain control of Ghost Town.
