A top family magazine, FamilyFun, has named Holiday World & Splashin' Safari the No. 2 Amusement Park in the Midwest.
“This is a huge honor,” says the parks’ president, Will Koch. “To be ranked among the top amusement parks for families in the Midwest is a goal we’ve been working toward for years.” Koch notes such efforts as Hospitality Training, a focus on safety and cleanliness, plus the popular Free Unlimited Soft Drinks program have a special appeal to families.
“Whenever we have a choice to make, we ask ourselves, ‘Will this enhance a family’s visit?’” says Koch. “It makes the decision easy.” Recent family-friendly additions to the parks’ lineup include Holidog’s FunTown, Monsoon Lagoon, the comedic science show Discovery Institute, and this season’s ZOOMbabwe, a huge water slide with rafts—so that families can ride together.
The national magazine FamilyFun, with a national circulation of nearly 1.5 million, announces its annual “Family-Friendly Travel Awards” in its April issue. Nearly 4,000 subscribers across America were included in the survey, with residents in eight Midwestern states ranking 100 attractions and destinations located in their geographic region. The only park ranked higher than Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is Ohio’s Cedar Point.
