Descendant of Houston-area Playland operator also hopes to develop theme park

Plans are coming together for new a Houston-area theme park from the family of the man who brought Houstonians hours of fun at Playland Park decades ago. The 25-acre park Adventure Pointe in Texas City would have a retro-Americana theme and would be located next to the Tanger Outlet Mall on I-45 South.
