County park district wants to buy Chippewa Lake

The Medina County Park District is trying to obtain federal funds in order to purchase the approximately 90-acre former Chippewa Lake Amusement Park on the lake's eastern shore. The park district, along with the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, have sent a written request to U.S Rep. Ralph Regula's office to see if he could help, park district Director Thomas James said. The asking price for the land, which is owned by Chippewa Lake Properties, is $3.5 million.
