Monday marked the centennial of the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Historic Dentzel/Looff Carousel, "the heart and soul of Casino Pier," according to Josh Karu, the amusement center's operations manager. The anniversary celebration included a Dixieland band, a face painter and a balloon artist. There also was a special cake, which was a smaller version of the carousel, from Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, home of the "Cake Boss" on the cable television channel TLC.
