Animal rights protesters make monthly stop at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

On the heels of a lawsuit filed against Six Flags Entertainment Corporation in October by a pair of former employees, animal activists took their cause to the street Saturday in Vallejo to protest against the captivity of animals. The lawsuit alleges the wrongful termination of Michael Muraco, the park’s former director of animal care, for his and his wife’s efforts to protect the welfare of the animals at the park. About 30 people on Saturday lined the sidewalk along Fairgrounds Drive leading to the entrance of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The attorney for the plaintiffs say his clients do not oppose the industry or the animals.
