An application by Alton Towers for a late-night entertainment licence at its new hotel has met fierce opposition from villagers living near the theme park. The Splash Landings Hotel and Conference Centre at Alton Towers is seeking a licence for its bar to stay open until 1.30am Monday to Saturday and until 11pm on Sunday. The hotel is in the final stages of construction and scheduled to open on June 1. The locals recently voiced opposition for plans for a wood coaster in the woods as well.
