An application by Alton Towers for a late-night entertainment licence at its new hotel has met fierce opposition from villagers living near the theme park. The Splash Landings Hotel and Conference Centre at Alton Towers is seeking a licence for its bar to stay open until 1.30am Monday to Saturday and until 11pm on Sunday.
