Flying is about to take on a whole new meaning at Alton Towers next year as they reveal their most technically advanced roller coaster so far, the flying coaster. Different to Vekoma's version, this ride will see riders board the trains underneath the track and travel up the lift hill underneath the track, the experience should give a superman flying feel and will complete the first flying corkscrew element ever seen.
In march 2001 the construction site was just that, a patch of mud. But now, over three-fourths of the track has been erected.
sw5live.com recently updated with nearly 20 new on-site pictures and an exclusive photograph of the artists impression of the rides shop, seen only in the staff head quaters.
