Zzzzzzzz.....

I agree ApolloAndy I thought that 2001 was one of the best years ever for coasters.

I agree. 2001 was a great year for coasters.

I think the coaster craze has migrated from the U.S. to Europe. They are getting hit with tons of great new coasters! Look at WBMV, Heide Park, Thorpe Park.

Isn't Heide Park supposed to get a giga coaster soon? The fun just doesn't stop overseas.

I agree that 2001 was a good season. 2002 wasnt that good but i think 2003 will be a good season.
How about here in Florida? Nothing new coasterwise has come here since Kraken in 2000. All we get here now is rumors and no reality. IOA is overdue, Busch Gardens is way overdue. I would be happy if we could just join the hyper coaster club and get one of those bad boys in the Sunshine State. Can I get an Amen Brother???????
I do agree. Florida is spoiled with coasters, but they are definetley in need for a hyper coaster. If any park in Florida ever get's a hyper I bet it will be Busch Gardens.

2001 was a disappointing year? What about Titan, Talon, Phantom's Revenge, Wildfire, Cheetah? Seemed like a pretty good year to me. Could it be that we are spoiled? We expect parks to add a new coaster every single year.

From what I've seen, Europes economy isn't much better than ours. Maybe their consumer cofidence is higher than ours though.

Chuck, who will be happy if there are more built than removed. Visionland isn't looking good at all because Wild Adventures pulled out of the deal with only one week left for bidding http://www.al.com/news/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/xml/story.ssf/html_standard.xsl?/base/news/1034155268168650.xml

Also, Lesourdsvilles future is questionable. I still think it was stupid for the owner to let a working formula go in search of nothing definete.

Chuck, who says thats two top 50 woodies right there that have very uncertain futures

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

2001 dissapointing? If Cheetah and Cornball were the only coasters that were built that year, I'd still be one happy puppy.

Chuck, who loves both them CCI's :)

If you think next year is slow, just wait until 2004. Six Flag's stock tanked only recently, and all these new rides were probably already a done deal when this happened. Considering SF has been doing much of the building in the past few years, I'd expect a big cut in spending next year. Add to that the fact that several Cedar Fair parks have added coasters this year or are adding one for next year (CP, Knott's, Valleyfair!), and we may not see too many additions in 2004.

However I do believe Florida may be the exception to that rule.

Of course that's my opinion, and I could be wrong.
