I agree. 2001 was a great year for coasters.
I think the coaster craze has migrated from the U.S. to Europe. They are getting hit with tons of great new coasters! Look at WBMV, Heide Park, Thorpe Park.
Isn't Heide Park supposed to get a giga coaster soon? The fun just doesn't stop overseas.

2001 was a disappointing year? What about Titan, Talon, Phantom's Revenge, Wildfire, Cheetah? Seemed like a pretty good year to me. Could it be that we are spoiled? We expect parks to add a new coaster every single year.

From what I've seen, Europes economy isn't much better than ours. Maybe their consumer cofidence is higher than ours though.
Chuck, who will be happy if there are more built than removed. Visionland isn't looking good at all because Wild Adventures pulled out of the deal with only one week left for bidding http://www.al.com/news/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/xml/story.ssf/html_standard.xsl?/base/news/1034155268168650.xml
Also, Lesourdsvilles future is questionable. I still think it was stupid for the owner to let a working formula go in search of nothing definete.
Chuck, who says thats two top 50 woodies right there that have very uncertain futures

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!
2001 dissapointing? If Cheetah and Cornball were the only coasters that were built that year, I'd still be one happy puppy.
Chuck, who loves both them CCI's :)

However I do believe Florida may be the exception to that rule.

Of course that's my opinion, and I could be wrong.
