Zumanjaro opening delayed at Six Flags Great Adventure

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

The opening of Six Flags Great Adventure’s new ride Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom has been delayed because of weather conditions. The ride originally was scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, but construction of the top of the ride was postponed by a combination of high winds, snow and cold.

I'll be there for the first time in a vary long time in early June. I hope it's open when I am there. The last time I was there, Kingda Ka was new, and closed. Wouldn't it be kind of ironic if...

It would kind of be like rain on your wedding day, or a free ride when you've already paid.

Or the good advice that you just didn't take. Who would've thought? It figures.

Because the title, "Unfavorable Coincidences" doesn't sell as many copies.

It also doesn't fit, rhythmically. "And isn't it an unfavorable coincidence...don't you think?"

How close in actual drop height is this to drop of doom or whatever at SFMM?

I rode that a few times and it was pretty good. But I honestly did not notice much difference in height (visually) from 250 and 300ft drop towers ridden previously. At those heights, it's somewhat diminishing effects IMO.

The view on top of the one at SFMM though is stunning... That was the really nice part. But I still think one of my favorite towers is the one at Waldameer and the old Pit-Fall at Kennywood when you had the side overlooking the valley.

I think this one is only 15 taller than Supes.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I am certain your view of the parking lot will be quite unobstructed. ;)

I'm looking forward to the view of the new hotel.

If they needed a drop tower, then it would have already been bui...oh, they built a drop tower? Then this proves they didn't need the drop tower!

But seriously, Lex Luthor didn't even get to me at all last year, I still got way more nervous doing Drop Zone at KI the first time a few years ago.
