Zumanjaro opening delayed again as state hasn't issued permit to operate yet

Just a few hours before members of the press were scheduled to get a taste of a steep drop ride at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson today, park officials again delayed the opening. Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom was first slated for a Memorial Day weekend opening to the public, then that was nixed. Now, with a new opening date of July 4 just days away, the press preview of Zumanjaro as been canceled because the park has not secured a state permit to run the ride.

I may be wrong, and kpjb, you may know more so feel free to chime back in, but I remember reading that the mechanism that raises the gondolas on Lex were different.

I know on the version like Pittfall that the gondolas all went up synched, but they travel at different 'speeds' up the tower and some get up first.

I've never seen that on Lex. They go up and arrive at the top together.

The park announced Zumanjaro will open today.
JACKSON, NJ―July 4, 2014―Six Flags Great Adventure today unveils this year’s most anticipated extreme ride, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom―the world’s tallest and fastest drop ride. The launch commemorates the park’s opening weekend 40 years ago during the July 4th holiday.

Yeah, I really don't know how this generation works. I can only comment on Pitt Fall era rides and assume from there.
