Zues: Wooden coaster delight

I rode zues for the first tim e and I thought it was the one of the best wooden roller coasters I have ever been on. The air time was great and the fact that it is placed in thw woods hidden from the park made have a sense of extra joy to the ride. But without a doubt the best part of the ride is when you get to see the pond covered with green scum and all the allgie layers on it. But all in all the ride was great and at big chief all coasters make 2 laps so instead of 2900 feet of track you get 5800 feet of out of control track. This ride truly claims to be the god of the gods. Zues is one of the best woodies out there!

That is a coaster you hear barely anything about. I sure hope to ride it some day.

I totally agree. It is one of my favorite coasters, but I think that the other big coaster there is better, but Zeus is still a great ride. BTW, I liked that scum pond too.

Mental note: Must get to Big Chief's this year.

Chris, if you go, dont use the bathroom, it's DISGUSTING! I liked Zeus a little. Unfortuneately, my sister made me ride in the exact middle (after the back seat on Cyclops, she would let me pick anymore :(), but it was still okay there. I bet it's great in the front and back...

I just rode it for the first time this weekend. I agree, it is a great woodie. The pond is cool, they should have made it go really low right over it. I thought Cyclops was better though, that thing is crazy.

It's funny how none of those coasters are recognized just because they're not at a huge park. That proves that a not so popular park CAN have a good coaster(s)

Zeus is my number 1 wooden coaster. If you ride it at night time, it will deffinitely make your number 1 spot for sure. It is just a wild coaster.

But since it isn't so popular, that just makes it better for us who have ridden, because they have no clue what they're missing.

I will be riding Zeus, Cyclops, and Pegasus next weekend, I can't wait to get some rides on them.
i've heard so much about this coaster, so why isn't it ever put in the rankings
On the way back I did stop at Big Cheif on the way back because I'm from Minnesota. I rode Zues I truly agree it was awsome lots of air time. Its surprising on how some coasters dont get a lot of attention and ratings.

How was the backseat on Cyclops? Does it live up to the hype?
Chris Away, the only drop that I have been on that was similar to the "Cyclops Drop" in backseat on Cyclops was the imfamous "Fifth Hill" on Raven.... I cant give it any higher praise than that :)

Hold On, At Big Chief, the coasters go two laps, thats awesome, if only that were true for all coasters. And Zeus was featured on a coaster show. If someone wants to hear about it. reply to this post!

Are you talking about Tonnere de Zeus in Paris or another woodie???
No, it's another woodie. It's a CCI in Wiscondells at a small park with go karts and two other roller coasters. This park is truely awesome with two awesome coasters and the best go kart tracks I have been on. If only they got attention some how.

Good lookin' on the bathroom info and the drop on Cyclops. Now, if I could just get my lazy friends to actually get in gear and make it up there with me...

We were just there Sunday and Monday and we got 6 more laps on Zues this is the only coaster that I have strictly ridden at night. I still could not really tell you what this thing looks like and I have never seen the pond scum that you have talked about because it has always been pitch black. The first time I rode it (2 years ago) the ops were smoking and goofing off and there was an open air station. Now there is a cover over the station and the ride-ops had uniforms (polo t-shirts and pants) etc. This ride is so SMOOTH! and it flies at night the banked turn that brings you back is AWESOME. It gave a lot of standing air. Reminds me a little of Beast but to bad its much shorter. If this would be longer it would be way up there on the list but for now it will sit behind Beast. Glad it doesn't get much recognition because I can always go up there and know I will be able to walk right on this top 10 coaster.

i am about exactly between SFGAm and Big Chief. I love big chief. It is really expensive so you have to get an all day. Zues is incredible. Intense in the back, and smooth with crazy airtime in the front. Cyclops does live up to it's name in the back, that is why you have to be 18 to ride it in the back. It is a very intense coaster. I love it. I had to have ridden Zues 20 times in one day. It is one of the best woodies out there, and you get to ride it twice. there is never a line, even on a weekend. Have to get down there. I do every summer.

Just wait until they put another huge CCI into the park. Talk about a great publicity stunt. Heck, why not turn it into an all out coasterland. How many parks out their are their like this, I can't think of too many if any at all. A big CCI would be a great addition to the park. The terrain would be perfect for a romp through the woods.
