I didn't think this place would ever open. I remember being down there in 2003. It was suposed to be open then.
I noticed it when I was down there in '09 for my wedding (Sanibel Harbor), and it seemed odd when my dad-in-law told me the story. How do you get that close to opening, on the way to a beach, and fail first? Seems like an opportunity to print money.
I'll have to go check this place out in the fall. We've driven by the place many times and I too scratched my head at the place never opening. All my wife's family lives in Fort Myers :)
