For years, the structure of a roller coaster sat idle alongside Summerlin Road like the skeletal remains of a dinosaur, while the sign proclaimed a family fun park that seemingly would never open. But on Friday, June 15, Zoomers opens to the public, offering bumper boats, a Tilt-a-Whirl, go-karts, mini golf, children's midway games, a family roller coaster — and much more.

I didn't think this place would ever open. I remember being down there in 2003. It was suposed to be open then.

I noticed it when I was down there in '09 for my wedding (Sanibel Harbor), and it seemed odd when my dad-in-law told me the story. How do you get that close to opening, on the way to a beach, and fail first? Seems like an opportunity to print money.
