Zippin Pippin starts night rides, over a thousand gather for the late opening

Around 1,000 people gathered last night to take a ride on Bay Beach Amusement Park’s Zippin Pippin. The new ride couldn’t operate past 8 p.m., the state wouldn’t allow the wooden roller coaster to operate after dusk. But with the installation of new flood lights surrounding the entire site, the ride will stay open for additional hour

I love that there were Elvis impersonators there for the opening.

So if it ever catches fire (god forbid) will they play "Hunk of Burning Love" in the parking lot as it goes up?

^^Beware that 2nd to last bunny hop. I don't think I've ever gotten bruises from a seat belt before (3rd seat).
