You're asking me whether the government matters more to Big Chief than the citizens of Wisconsin? If the government didn't matter to them they woud be shut down.
'Let's not pay taxes, the people of Wisconsin will back us up when the authorities come....'
What if Funtown Splashtown USA said that Excalibur was the fastest woodie in New England becaues they don't draw any crowds from Connecticut (Lake Compounce)?
If it was up to the citizens of theUnited States to pot the regions then none of the Great Lake states would be in the Midwest.

The 60mph could easily just be an estimate...
Accually, I'd like to say, if Big Chief is posting information correctly on their website, 60mph is accurate, not an estimate. I remember on a coaster show a few years back, a segment was about Zeus, and they had some guys testing g-forces. It's strange to see it, because it's pre-station roof, and I was never on it when it had no roof.

Another one of you guys up there that doesn't give a whootin' about your government. Is it because only 48% of your states qualified actually vote or is it just the something in the water..
Why should I have a state lincense when my Jenny Craig Club Members Card has my picture on the front as well.
Whether or not the public consultants at Big Chief fail geography in 4th grade? We shouldn't be argueing over there false awareness. Why argue about Zues anyways, I'm in South America right now, not like I'll see it any time soon.

Big Chief's marketing director may have failed geography, but at least he/she passed third grade spelling. That's "Zeus" and "arguing", buddy. Go back to school when you get back from South America.
Zues is 61 mph and American Eagle is 66, American Eagle was the fastest wooden coaster from 1981 to 2000. Zeus is lying and telling you for the whole state of wisconsin.
I've never seen the advertisements in question or ridden Zeus, but playa has a point. I'm not saying that is what the ad is really implying, it's just something people do need to realize. Average speed is a completely different monster than top speed.
But should it include the lift hill. When the lifts are included you get average speeds in the teens for most coasters. Not really a good comparison if you ask me. I'd rather see comparisons of the time it takes from disengaging the lift hill chain to the final brake run. That would be the best comparison for the fastest average speed IMO.
Playa's system would definately favor a coaster short in height that can pick up lots of speed over a taller coaster doing that same. And coasters like that are great IMO. But if it only gains the overall average speed by using the larger coasters lift against it, it's really not a fair comparison. A comparison that can be made, but there are better.

Somebody hasn't been reading the thread...while Viper and ST might make interesting comparisons, it most certainly, absolutely is not AE. Loads of slow time in those long turnarounds = a much slower average speed.
But read the thread first, okay?

'Play, but if you take C Sam's look at it, the long slow second ascent up the chain would dramatically reduce the average speed. Likely right up there with the slow turnaround. But how did you all come up with "average speed" anyway as being the "fastest" BC is referring to; didya just pull that out ya ass or is that stated somewhere?

I didn't say that, Coaster sam did....and I don't know where he got that from.
And since taller coasters with higher peak speeds like AE were standing years and years before 1997 (when Zeus was built), there's only one possible interpretation.
Go back upstairs and get yo Daddy's belt.

no offense but coasta playa is a dumb name. Do you "play" coasters?
So sorry I lack your astounding and original creativity in names. No one here has ever plopped 'Coaster' in front of their first name before. So hip, now and wow. Snore.
But to answer your little question, yes I do. I'm not a 'home park' fanboy whiner or devotee to one particular park or chain of parks. I like what I like...therefore the name.
If you wanna call my name dumb, at least spell it right--it's only sitting three inches away from your nose. Capital 'C', Capital 'P' and all one word.
Wait a minute....what can I expect from a guy who spells 'preparation' wrong a mere five letters into the word? (click Coaster Sam's info and look at his email address). I guess you're lucky your first name is three letters long, eh?
Oh yeah....no offense. You rock. Har.
BTW, 2Hostyl and I are peeps from back in the day--he don't need your help. The 'belt' reference was a joke from another thread here. We quote each others posts every now and then. It was an A to B conversation, aaiiight?
