Zamperla wants to build amusement park in Venice

Antonio Zamperla, whose company specializing in amusement park rides generates revenues of 60 million euros a year, envisions a 55-meter (yard)-tall Ferris wheel, a rollercoaster and other rides, alongside installations illustrating the Venetian lagoon's fragile ecology and the city's history. The park would cost 80 million euros ($110 million).

This will never happen. I've been to Venice and this really could ruin the beautiful historic views, and I have a feeling a lot of resident Venetians would agree. A 150-ft ferris wheel would be the second tallest thing in the whole city after the San Marco campanile. It'd be an eyesore.

I say build on the mainland if you want to build.

Yes, I'm thinking maybe in the 'burbs...

Too much noise and disturbance. Maybe 10-20 miles away.
