Zamperla Flying Coaster

Well, I just got the latest issue of First Drop, and there is a whole pictorial and artical on the new Zamperla flying coaster being built (nearly complete) at their factory in Italy. The thing looks amazing. It has numerous inline twists, and dives into itself countless times for a very compact twisting layout. It also has a spiral lift, instead of a chain lift hill.
Anyone else seen it?

It seems everyone wants a peice of the action! With B&M's already under constuction, and Zamperla sporting a nifty model, Vekoma certaily has got some competetion with the flying coaster.

Sounds cool!

Forget about it. It can't be THAT bad!
Check out these photos, the shot are wider than those in the magazine, so it's not quite as large and twisting as I first thought.

I would imagine that the trains have lift motors in them. Otherwise, I don't see how the trains will get up the curley-cue.

A traveling flying coaster. Now thats a good idea:)

Let the bears pay the Bear Tax, I pay the Homer Tax.
The ride does look a little carnyish, not saying it would be FOUND at a carnival, just the design, and look of it. Still looks like fun though.

I just hope one of those travels to a carnival near me.
I was kinda hoping that was a downward sprial twist. Would be cool ending.....

There is a large rotating tower that will go in the center of the spiral, which will drag the trains to the top. *** This post was edited by FloridaCoasterRider on 6/29/2001. ***

Both of those coasters look fun. I wonder how smooth they are though. I just went on a Pinfari Loopin Star. It was pretty rough. Then again, it was pretty old.

I think Vekomas look better, I also get the feeling of a carnival ride, IMO, these will be found at boardwalks, B&M's flyer has yet to be seen, so for now, I'll stick to the Vekoma Flying Dutchman.

oh how dare you. how DARE YOU!, sir~Adam Carolla
I think that it looks more like an invert than a flying.
