Your Home PARK, This Year and Next Year

My home parks are PGA and SFMW.  At SFMW, we got an awesome ride in Vertical Velocity.  At the same time, we got an even larger size crowd to contend with most of the summer weekends with the same size pathways: small.  SFMW needs to increase the size of their pathways in a lot of areas to help with the flow of crowds.  That's the only complaint I've got about that park, other than the ops and some of the staff.  ;)  I think it's improved dramatically over the years, and just seems to be getting better.

As for PGA, we got a good new family coaster, a great new simulator and a good Wave Swinger, among other things.  The major improvement was the landscaping work and the paint job to the Carousel.  PGA is a great looking park now, with nice grass and flowers everywhere, plus the large new Celebration Plaza area.  If only they had better coasters, and something that was over 2 minutes long in ride time.  Other than that, I have no complaints at all.

Rollercoaster lovers do it in the front seat!

SFMM, my homepark raised it's prices, had delays, and had few discount offers. I still think it improved from last year though, I felt that the workers were a little more friendly from past years. Next year i'm hoping for a few more flat rides or maybe a wild mouse, nothing big, just something that would reduce overall queue times.

Drive to theme parks for the food, stay for the coasters!! Knott's Fried Chicken
My home park is SFAW. It's steadily gotten worse and worse ever since Six Flags bought it. It will NEVER improve. The only way that it possibly could would be if something happened to Gary Story. We should all be so lucky.

Lucky for me (?), no SF in Florida.  That means we get 12 months of riding those few rides we have.  Sure, SF needs to improve virtually everything BUT the number of coasters at their larger parks (theming, staffing, food quality, staffing, food and drink prices,  guest relations, staffing, ride maintenance and operation), but they DO have lots of coasters.  My home park BGT, got Rhino Rally, which I'll get to ride sometime this fall now that the "good" parks are closed for the year (and I'm out of leave time, LOL).  Still hoping for the much-rumored hyper, but it doesn't look too promising...My "adopted" park, Wild Adventures, got Cheetah, a perfect addition, and I'm saying here that this park WILL grow, and quickly.  I'm hoping for another CCI, but know that next year is gonna be BIG regardless.

Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
This year: Great Adventure was a lot cleaner, more crowded than usual, Opened Evolution, built *Nitro*, Free Safari,

Next Year: Please.....Paint GASM and RT, Add Theming to Nitro, Open Viper

Alton Towers, and a pap year it was for improvements. We got a nosebleed inverter from Chance. However, we gettin a nice new toy next year.....
My homepark is Six Flags Great Adventure, and it improves much with each passing season. With the addition of Nitro and the Chiller retrofit, it was a great year coaster-wise. Also, most of our rides were operational and I fully expect to see the Space Shuttle, Viper, Evolution, and the Parachutes leave the park in the very near future.

We've had several delicious eateries added to the park's already wide ranging arsenal of restaurants, the safari is free with park admission, free fastlane, season passholder's entrance and parking, preferred parking, several great new extra pay attractions like Alcatraz, Sling Shot, Euro- Bungy, and Turbo Force, the revamped Boardwalk, and the continued maximum train operation of all our coasters.

2001 was a great year, and I have no qualms about saying that 2002 will again be a great year, with an addition here, a subtraction there, and perhaps Q-Bot will make an appearance too....

Mine is PKI and it improved a lot this year.  Rugrats was great, even though it's a kiddie ride.  It could have been longer though.  The new re-themed log flume was a blast.   The new lap bar restraints on Flight of Fear were a lot better than the over the shoulder ones.

Next year, Tomb Raider should be yet another of PKI's trend setting rides.  It is gonna be awesome.  The only thing that I think they could improve on in future years is lowering the price a bit and adding another big steel coaster

Oaks Parks in Portland,Oregon is my home park. They installed 4 new flat rides this last year ,but no new coasters. This is one park that I  feel would benefit from building a CCI woodie. For me,this park stayed the same.I am too old to ride whirl'n'hurls, but I can still ride coasters all day.

Ohhhhhhh Can't Wait to see what's comin' in 2002. It better be friggin awesome. Not to mencheon the stoopid fastlane crap must go.  /P

AstroWorld (SFAW) is the park closest to me, though in my heart I feel that SFoT is my home park.

No new rides this year at SFAW.
1. The biggest improvement was with the Texas Cyclone (TC). Its Morgan cars had their coffin style headrests removed. TC also *feels* as if it runs faster now, with the proof being in the speed at which the hills are taken: it no longer feels as if we'll barely make it over the hill after the first turn.
2. Serial Thriller (Vekoma SLC) ran with one train until a few weeks ago. Its the most popular ride at the park so having only one train seriously impacted throughput.
3. Texas Tornado was down all season with the exception of running a few hours on the morning of the first operating day of the season.
4. Batman: The Escape received heavy maintenance on its train in the form of new padding for the OTSR restraint assembly and what appears to be new paint for the rest of the trains. This latter piece I am not certain of, but the trains do *look* as if they were painted. In addition, at least one of the trains received some new wheels, which dramatically improved the quality and smoothness of the ride.
5. Bamboo Shoots (Arrow flume) had some heavy maintenance and a goldfish pond was added close by.
6. Thunder River (Intamin river rapids) didn't run at all this season. Its possible that this is due to the heavy rains earlier this year (prior to the June flooding).
7. A portion of WaterWorld that backs up to Thunder River is gone.
8. Some of the theatrical props around the park have been kept in operation, such as the fake thermostats that add to themeing within the Batman station house.

In all, I can't say it was a great year. Most of the newsbits above (except #1) are items that should have been addressed during the off-season, such as Serial Thriller's & Batman's train maintenance. Still, its better to have had it done later than not at all. Next year, as is typical with AstroWorld, I expect that there will no new rides. Rumor has it that the park will get some paint for its rides that is desperately needed (and I do mean DESPERATELY).

In general, I would say that the park is being kept cleaner than it used to be in years past. Hopefully, this trend will continue into the future.

My offical CURRENT homepark Is Lagoon, probaly my favorite park ever. and My homepark next season will be Cedar Point (I'll be there, either on VertiCord crew or maybe even on Magnum crew :)    )

Well, theres a whole thread about whats changing at my home park next year.;) (CP)
I only went to SFEG once this year, and in the words of Chris Farley:

"I'm here to tell you that our improvements didn't amount TO JACK SQUAT!!!!!!

"Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away and you have their shoes."

PGA and SFMW our my home parks, PGA is my ture home park though, being 45 minutes away. This year was a great year for the park being that we got Stelth last year. I would of had a better taste in my mouth about it all but we were supposed to get A TA2K! The park did a great job coping witht he power emergincy and made all minor improvments it had to, like New on ride photo for Vortex, brand new aircondishioning in the Sky Tower, and a new Demon train which unfortinally just got to the park. This left Demon with one train op all year but it had a short line any way. The new fountains in Celebration plaza are neat and I am gald their there. The Carrosell's new paint makes it look 5 times better. Pyscho Mouse is also a good ride and had some theming! Stelth had a great year, because its breakdowns were much less freaqwent. Next year, I had hoped to get the TA2K we were supposed to have but don't look for Paramount to install one for the next couple years. Then another strong rumor was a new woodie, but with each passing day it gets more and more bleak. It appears evident that were getting another new simulator and maybe if were lucky a new flat. Thats all fair game, I can defently ride the rides we have now and not get boerd of them, so bring it on.

SFMW. 6 coasters in 3 years. Thats alot! V2 is better than Medusa, and they have some great flat rides and the animals are always fun! But the park really lacked theming or an atmosphere, it just seemed dead. No music except at the front and very back were there is nothing! That whole area back there is very relaxing though. The Roar and V2 area in paticular gets on my nerves, there is no life or anything back there just 2 great coasters. I am happy to see they put alot into Shark Experience this year though, and kept there shows top notch, but the whale show is gone, and that really sucks! The Killer wales were the staple of SFMW, even with the coasters. Kong got the best improvments of all this year, possibly the worst looking coaster on the planet, is now one of the better ones with that new sleak paint job, now is there something we can do about the weeds and dirt under the ride? They slowed it down alot this year to make it smooth, but I am opposed to that alot. Yeah its not rough now but, it never was! Those great pads on the OTSR's make it like a pillow! Next year, they need to buy at least part of the fairgrounds, they really have no land what so ever. The only land is across the station from Kong were all the emplyee building are, but they would have to move them and they then would barley have room for an out and back type coaster that started and ended in Animal Adventure. Now seeing what SFMW has done adding ROAR, MEDUSA, AND V2, in the 3 years SF has owned them, we really shouldn't rule out anything.

Not MLK's words but mine..I have a Dream! I have a DREAM! I HAVE A DREAM!I have a dream! That SFMM fans will be able to walk hand in hand with CP's!
AND no ONE cares what a coaster is and what a coaster isn't!

My homeparks are HW and SFStL...SFStL is about the same as always, not many improvments or ride installations, but still an overall good atmosphere.  One of the better SF parks IMO.  HW was awesome as usual,. with the Legend running better than ever.  Can't wait to see what it's like with PTC's.

I have two homeparks: SFoG and PC.

I haven't been to PC this year. But I have been to SFoG three times.

I think that SFoG has played a schizo year. They got two brand new, world famous rides (as seen on Extreme Rides 2001). On the other end of the spectrum, they have disappointed many in the coaster enthusiast community be getting rid of the las Schwarzkopf shuttle loop on the East coast.

I'm hoping for a B&M flyer or Intamin Anything this year.

As for PC, we know they are getting Ricochet. But I think they need something more thrilling.

My homepark is Six Flags over Texas, We had an amazingly good 40th year this year. Titan was a wonderful addition to the park with other great improvements including a totally reworked Looney Tunes USA (kids area).

Next year: AHHAHAHAHAHHH..no really..I have been told of Lap Bars on Mr. Freeze, but that is about it, and i am not even certain that will hapen.

Titan Laps: 148

My home park is SFMW. This park got V2 this year which is a great coaster. I looking for the height restriction to raise so they can add a hyper as well as a Gyro Drop.
