You just gotta love Six Flags...

Splendiferous , Vater? Sounds like something Rohld Dahl( children's author ) would have made up. lol
False advertising? Man, people love to throw out that phrase too much.

So has anyone bothered to email the webmaster yet? Or are we still at square one moaning and groaning about it?

Want to know why I won't email the webmaster? Simply put, I don't care.

Post 1 of 15: In a way, it is false advertising. The ride pictured is not the ride described. Granted, it happens all the time, and it's not that huge of a deal.

From a personal standpoint, I really don't care too much either, but that's because I know what coasters are at each park. Therefore, though I find it somewhat annoying, I don't feel the need to email the webmaster about it. You may call it moaning and groaning if you like--I call it offering a point of view, since this is a message board that allows us to do so.

Have you ridden a Toboggan?

Post 2 of 15: I really don't care either. Like I've said MANY times in this post, I find it funny. That's it. HA HA. Sheesh. If you want this thread to go away, why do you keep posting responses here? Why not just leave it alone?

Don't put anyone on a pedestal, because then people will point and laugh at them.

Even though they have an outside company doing the site for them. Don't you think the PR and Marketing departments would want to proof it? Makes sense to me..

Oh boy, this is getting ugly...

Can we please keep this at least somewhat constructive?

The conservation wasn't going anywhere anyway... why not start a fight? ;)

But with a check of their profile, the explanation was found. *cough* troll *cough*

Other than pictures, I have found misinformation on their websites, they seem to have cleaned those up though. That would annoy me more than seeing the wrong ride, I don't care what it looks like, but if you say it's there and it isn't well... that can be a problem.

Actually, the site still describes Two-Face as follows:

'Features 30 vertical curves, 25 horizontal curves, four upside-down loops and one corkscrew.'

Speaking of wrong pictures, the park map at Carowinds shows pictures of rides that are not at our park. It shows Top Gun from PGA, Hurler from PKD, and Vortex from PKI. Just something I noticed...

-Vortex Crew 2003-

I think they used similar rides for pictures on there web site because they do not have a photo of the ride available and they do not want to spend the money on taking pictures of those rides to put it on there web site. So, They save money by using similar rides for there photos as most people will not even notice.
False advertising? Could we be any more over dramatic? If you don't like the way they market their product, tough. As long as they correctly describe the ride in the text, they could put a picture of a lamp shade next to it for all I care. Only enthusiasts notice this kinda of crap and make a big deal out of it.

Tease Alert!

*Something* wicked this way comes...to the west coast in 2004!

Post 15. Others have pointed out it's happened on other parks' websites. Y'all should simmer down nah.

#16 Not to change the subject too much but I just read a quote in AT from Tim Burkhart, SFMM's director of operations. When asked about landscaping around Scream he said "We find that people don't pay attention to what's underneath the ride."

Just gotta love Six Flags. :)
