I know that was one problem that people had with 3 when it came out. That the only way you could save your awesome stations was by saving the building seperately and then you couldnt pop the building and ride down over top each other. This led to all the save game and very little TRACK files coming out for RCT3. This should/could change all that.

I'll get to it eventually.
From what I understand scenery still can't be placed along the edge of a path square. I don't like having to think so big. My thing is kind of cramped, tight designs.
As it stands if I build a woodie, I have to allow a square's worth of space to fence it off or the supports don't touch ground and then allow another square for any path near the ride.
To me it just compounds the trouble most people have with large parks running on their PC. Everything needs to be bigger, but the bigger things get, the worse the game runs.
Still want to mess with those waterfalls though. :)
Gonch, there's a cheat you can put in so you can build on the paths. It comes in very handy. And yes, the waterfalls are fun but are hard to get. You'll understand someday. :) *** Edited 7/13/2005 4:51:44 PM UTC by Corkscrewy***
i'm not sure what to put here..
That is one of my peeves about the game. It's really annoying when it comes to walls and fences.
An annoyance, but something that I can live with... the supports for Log Flumes look like supports for wooden coasters. Some real flumes do have this sort of structure... but many more have the steel post supports that you hardly even notice.
Also... STILL no Tilt-A-Whirl, Paratrooper or Whip, while at the same time having not one but two versions of the Sky Wheel (Any of these things still even operating?).
All that being said... I'll admit that it is not as bad as I first thought and I've warmed up to the new game considerably from my first negative reaction. *** Edited 7/13/2005 7:29:12 PM UTC by SLFAKE***
As for the other rides, well...got to save something for future expansions!
Glad to see more people warming up to the game. See? I told all of you it would be better. It's actually a good deal of fun now. I find myself enjoying the waterpark side of things way more then I thought I would. And I think the more they add in to it, the more interesting it will become too. Just like the first RCT did (but not the second!)
But perhaps the best news of all (for Gonchar)is that there's NO PEE IN THE POOLS. LOL
i'm not sure what to put here..
Same error message. On a Scenario. Where nothing was changed from when I opened it up and deleted the waterfall that was already placed there by the programmers. I have a feeling they just 'forced the code' to put a waterfall there, cause it sure wouldn't go back to it!
Let me sit down with it later tonight and find some things to complain about. :)
I've played with it a little. I still want more time with it, but my initial reaction is...
meh.
Nothing has changed as far as gameplay, they just added more stuff to do. If you already don't care for the game, this is just more stuff to do within those same boundaries.
For me, it'll add a little life to things. I might do some one-off coasters with scenery for people to use. Still doesn't change much in the long run.
Ok, maybe a little list of some things (again, based on little time with the game):
- Building a pool complex is even more tedious than building the stuff previously in the game (yup, I didn't think it was possible either) - down to adding each little pool light and ladder. I'm sure a certain type of person digs this, but my enthusiasm wears thin long before I can get my 'vision' down on the map.
- The aquarium seemed like something with potential. As far as I can tell at this point, it works just like the mini-golf. Build some path and then pick one of 5 pre-fab pieces, build more path, drop another pre-fab. The same way you toss together a mini-golf course.
- The waterfalls are cool. I didn't think it was too hard to get them set up. But even still, beyond overusing them in the next park I put together, its just a way to break the visual monotony.
- The new laser, water, whale and dolphin shows. Work just like the fireworks did. Either you like that sort of thing and these are welcome additions to expand your creativity or you're like me and found the fireworks mixmaster to be a lesson in patience. These new items under the mixmaster work the same way (except with about a gazillion new options for each thing) - plenty of control/customization, little fun in the (hate to use this word again, but...) tedious nature of putting it together.
- I dunno. What else? Two new themes. Yup - all two of them. Some new drop and forget flats are in there.
- Performance hasn't changed either way on my system.
Again, let me stress this is a very initial reaction. I've only been piddling around for an hour or so. I did the tutorials real quick too. I plan on spending more time with it tonight after everyone goes to bed.
Not sure what I expected, but it really does just throw new things to toy with into the same old RCT3 world. If you didn't like the game before, I don't see how Soaked will change your opinion. It plays exactly the same. If you liked the game and just wished there was more to mess with, then Soaked will appease you until the next expansion/add-on.
Right now, I think it'll add a little playlife just on the new things to mess with. However, I expect to lose interest again rather quickly.
At least I can do my one-off coasters with scenery attached. The only problem is that I believe (not sure) that the end user would also need Soaked to open the file with scenery and to be honest, I wouldn't drop the cash just for that added feature (which should've been part of the game in the first place)
Initial Verdict: meh
If you look behind the veneer of the added stuff, its actually "wacky worlds" in 3d.
How many broken vases does the Atlantis theme offer?! Why didn´t they add a vase-mixmaster in the first place?
I'm still not happy, but I'm pacified.

Funniest comment ever in the RCT forum at CoasterBuzz.
Soaked doesn't add much. I've been playing a lot and working on a park. It's the same old, same old with some new eye candy.
All I find myself doing is overusing the waterfall and tunnel features and dropping the new flats instead of the old ones.
The new themes/building pieces are just as limited (and limiting) as the originals.
Worth it to add a little extra life to the game for someone who wants to like it - not worth it if you expect any fundamental game changes at all.
No RCT3 for me. I'll stick to RCT2, thanks ;)
And Gonchar, I have to wonder what you thought of the expansions for even RCT 1 since those were also same old same old with new eye candy. I take exception that Soaked doesn't add much. Someone even compared all the expansions to one another and found that RCT3+soaked added more rides then either RCT1+expansions or RCT2+expansions which surprised me, but it's true. So I have a hard time understanding how you can say it doesn't add much. Maybe you meant add much VALUE. Which would be subjective and each person would have a different view on the worth but would make sense. I could see that arugument. I'd disagree with it, because I think Soaked makes the game MUCH more enjoyable, but I could see it. LOL
But at least there's no pee in the pool right Gonchar? lol
