Yet another repetitive (I know...) "Which park?" topic

I wasn't going to post one of these, but my indecisiveness has left me no other choice. We are flying down to the Tampa area on Thursday, and are planning to take Friday and go to Orlando, most likely to Universal. Since the family members I'm going with had a little problem saving money, and along with the fact that we're only going for one day, there's a 99% chance we'll only go to either Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios. I've had a hard time deciding on which one I'd rather go to.

Obviously both parks have plusses. IoA has the theming, Hulk, Dragons, Spiderman, and Dudley/Bluto. USF has Mummy, Jaws, MIB, ET, Twister. Me, recently coming out of the credit whore closet, would favor IoA because they have the better coasters. I'd also like to try out Mummy, and [corny]I've wanted to ride Jaws since I was 7 and saw the commercial at the end of Double Dare on Nickelodeon.[/corny] All the other interactive rides look pretty sweet also. I'm just torn pretty much.

As you can see, I've spent entirely way too much time thinking this over, and I haven't been able to make up my mind. Of course there's plenty to do at both parks to take up a day, I just really can't decide which. Hopefully I can get some feedback from people that have been there before to make this easier to decide. Thanks.

I have yet to visit IoA, but I have been to Universal a few times in the long, long ago ('93-'96). I never cared much for Universal other than Back to the Future, so IoA would be the definite choice for me.

Why not buy a 1 day 2 park pass and get what you want from both parks?

Thru AAA the price difference between the one-aprk pass and the "hopper" was six bucks....considering the number of *Single Riders* lines, that would be my choice... ;)

If forced to pick one, I'd do IoA....but I'd be kicking myself for missing Mummy... ;)

I believe that's the one that's 110 dollars, correct? If so, I doubt it because money is an issue. That'd be over a third, possibly even over half of the money that my mom and two aunts have set aside because of their money managing issues.

And also gator, that does sound like a great deal, but we didn't plan any of this through AAA, and I don't believe any of them are members or anything. Could you still pull something off within 3 days? *** Edited 5/22/2006 8:32:13 PM UTC by Camden Crazy***

Another Edit: Also, the 1 day-2 park tickets I saw on their site were for the express lines only, and weren't valid for admission to the parks. Am I misinterpreting something? *** Edited 5/22/2006 8:40:39 PM UTC by Camden Crazy***

They are both a blast. Flip a coin?

^If this park hopper deal becomes too expensive, that might be what it comes down to.

I hate to double post, but are these 1 day/2 park tickets anywhere on the official site? I've looked multiple times and I can't find them. Could someone possibly point me in the right direction?

I bought one at the gate for either $65 or $70 a few months ago...they're not $110

It's only like $10 more than a regular 1 day ticket

The 2-day, 2-park tickets are $100 at the gate, or $85 at Costco (and that's a 3-month, 2-park ticket).

It's a really tough decision, though, not gonna lie. I favor USF by just a little bit because of Mummy.
