Yet Another PPP TR!

Associated parks:
None

I'll try to make this short.

I got to the park a little before 5pm and registered. Every year Knoebels has raised the price a little. I think last year it was $13. Now it's $15

We started the night by the aunual "wait in line" for the free pizza at Ceasari's. Had to have been a good 45 minute wait. The longest of the night. The pizza is good though.

The ride counts for the night are as followed:

Phoenix 2 laps one in the back seat and 1 in 3! The Phoenix always runs it's best for PPP I don't know if it's extra grease, pixie dust, or the light being off but the Phoenix is always incredibe at PPP!

The Flyer 4 laps. It's always fun flying like a nut when there are tons of enthusiests cheering you on. Crazy flying being done by just about everyone!

HSTC 1 lap

The Whip 1 lap. The guys running the whip were having too much fun! They kept flashing the lights a yelling, and ringing the bell. It had to have been my lest comfortable ride because we squeezed 3 adults in one car!

The Carousel 1 lap. I was doing great catching the rings 14 on 7 passes. The last 3 passes they were out of rings! Still one of my favorite rides.

The Haunted Antique Cars 1 lap. This had the longest line after the wait for the pizza, about a half hour! This is always one of the best things about PPP. This year they had a few more people run up to your car, and even jump in it! They made my girlfriend jump a few times. We both jumped at the car horn! Anyone who didn't ride this while there missed out!

Costumes:

The ones that caught my eye were:

The 4 witch sisters they had some pretty good make up!

Coastin Steve dressed up as the worker at SFOG who got hit in the head with a foot while being under B:TR, he even had a sneaker stuck to his hat!

Ed Markey, funny he was on the rides!

A crew of people wore pizza hats for Ceasari's Pizza.

Another crew made up a Haunted Mansion skit, The wizard, people moving Skulls up and down, the truck & horn, and a person in a powered wheel chair that looked like a car from the Haunted Mansion.

Yet again the mysterious drag queen was there dressed up like a nurse! Anyone know who this guy is?

A lady with a Hershey Bears (hockey) jersey with a puck stuck to her head.

There was also your basic assortment of ghouls, and monsters!

At the post PPP gathering Dick Knoebels anounced the Super Round up and another ride that will be anounced at a later date. He did mention it will give you a view of the park. It won't be a coaster!

After that we went to the bonfire. We hung out for an hour or so until the fire died down. We ended up getting back to the car around 12:30am.

I really hope next year they run PPP longer Midnight would be great! Still with less rides and more people it's a great time! I wouldn't miss it for anything!

Fun trip report, glad to see the hockey game was another highlight. Minor League hockey, beer and coasters.........can't get much better than that! Take care, Dan!

The Krispy Kreme folks were cool as well, and I liked the Phoenix guy's outfit too. I missed the haunted antique cars. I guess that's just an excuse to come back next year.

A rollercoaster? What's that?

Did you not get a chance to ride Twister or didn't want to ride? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on it, so I wasn't sure. Sounds like everyone had a great time and I'm sooo jealous I wasn't able to go this year! I've already marked for calendar for next October, so they better have Phoenix, Twister, and that Vekoma masterpiece waiting for me! ;)

Thanks for writing!

Danny

That mysterious drag queen has only missed one of two years since we started going back in 1990. Its funny... when we started going, everyone stayed away from him, but now everyone wants to hang out with him and have pictures taken with him (her?) He always goes as a bride or witch or something. Don't know who he is, but I'd love to find out if he's someone we know around here (or on RRC)!

Kosater King, I didn't ride Twister at PPP. For some reason Twister hasn't been doing much for me lately. I probably rode it about 30 times this year. I've just been having too much fun on the Flyers, Phoenix, Carousel and Skooters.

My favorite seat on Twister is the second seat. You get pops of air on the turnaround after the first drop, the enterance to the helix, (OH! THE ENTERANCE TO THE HELIX!), and a few pops on the way to the tunnel and entering the brake run. Did I mention the enterace to the helix? The enterance to the helix has to be the craziest 3 seconds on any wood coaster in the second seat, negative and lateral g's at the same time! It feels like the train is a bucking bronco trying to throw you off!

Visits to Knoebels in 2002: 10 and PPP!

Whoever Coastin' Steve is... he's going to a bad place!

I remember his costume last year and when I saw him again this year I wanted to yell at him and tell him how horrible of a person he is.

If anyone thinks that he is funny should be placed on a desserted island where nothing but SLC's and Boomerangs are there!

I seriously think that it's very tastless! End of Story

PPP was alright, but it was way to short!

You ever posted on CoasterBuzz..... on druuuuugs!

Twister was slaughtering Phoenix Saturday night in my opinion. They were both running unbelievably and are now my one and two wood. But after 20 laps on each yesterday I have to go with twister. I was bowing to the thing at the end of the night. I kissed both trains

Wow, I actually agree with Coaster Clown on something ;)

I thought the Batman Grounds Crew costume was really bad. Another bad one was the person with the hockey puck in their forehead -- a girl DIED at a Blue Jackets game not too long ago. There's nothing funny about either incident.

I thought the grounds crew was in bad taste as well. Didn't see teh hockey puck.

The best costume I saw was MooreOn's Dan Keller, too sweet.

The guy with the Magnum train on his head wasn't too bad either ;) Of course that was me so I am a bit partial.

Gas Tank to IN and back: $30
Admission to Fall Freak Out at Holiday World: $26
3 hours and about 60 rides worth of nighttime ERT on the two greatest wooden coasters ever built: Priceless :-D

And what the hell was up with that Stormtrooper? Kinda outta place if you ask me....

Seriously, a KKK Storm Trooper, what the heck.

I mean who wears a Storm Trooper outfit to a Coaster Event really. ;)

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

Or the Osama Mamas, or the gang of chickens last year?Or the hundreds of other kostumes that had nothing to do with parks!

Yes, I got 'smooshed' by 'Moosh a couple times in 1-2 Saturday night. I thought Twister was giving great rides during PPP. Way better than last August.

You guys have to realize that this isn't a coaster event. It has become more of a Halloween party with rides. Practically half the people that go to it are GP and not coaster enthusiasts. And some of them weren't even registered for the event. The people in front of my group in line for the Antique Cars didn't have a hand stamp and gave the ride ops tickets for the ride. I thought you could only ride if you had a hand stamp.

You shouldn't complain about people not wearing coaster or park related costumes. There is no rule stating that you had to wear such costumes. People can wear whatever they want. Even if we do not agree with it.

Roxy, who is complaining? We're merely poking fun at the ones that weren't. I was one of them, hence the sarcasm in my earlier post. Lemme just say that I should have won the prize for coming the furthest distance.....how far away is Tatooine anyways?

10.5 parsecs I belive Brad. ;)

And no one is complaining. The Strom trooper is in fact in our midst. Some of the costumes were in rather poor taste though.

Thurman was in attendance? Oooh...

(Kidding! Although it DOES give me an idea for a costume...)
