YES! New 300 foot attraction going to SFDL!

No.. its not a Total Insanity, or a coaster, but it is a super huge slingshot! [actually, In my opinion, I feel this is "better" because it launches faster and the "cage" spins wildly =)] YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to ride this thing.. and i am glad I held off on riding the small 200' version at the park last year....

Yea!

I also am very excited about this ride...i rode the 200 foot one and that was good...this one will be insane!

This mentions it, on the location, the speed, and the height (as well as the other new stuff).

I wish SFDL wasn't such a money-hungry park, otherwise I'd do it in a heartbest... but when the Sky Coaster costs probably the MOST in the country, it's totally unjustifiable. The price for the portable slingshot was 20 bucks a person... for 2 people in the same cage, it was 40 bucks!! That is honestly a rip-off for something that lasts for like 5 bounces.

I sure hope they decide to lower either the cost per person, or go with a "more is less" policy and make it like 20 bucks for 1 person, 30 bucks for 2. It's the same ride, so why charge double?

Ok, what's new for 2003?? I can't wait!!...

umm.. it isn't at the link eitherDawg byte, what exactly is it
Yeup. One of the six new S&S 'Absolutely Insane' rides that will debut this season 2002. The first three opened last year at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Cedar Point, and Knott's Berry Farm. Word says that SFAW will also be installing one of these pneumatic sling-shots.
I can't understand how you can all get excited over a shoot-the-chutes and an upcharge ride.  The way i see it, sfdl took a step backwards in 2002 because Those waterslides they removed were better worth having then a shoot-the-chutes.  All i am saying is, if I had an sfdl season pass last year, I wouldn't renew it because its gonna be a crappy year.

To us who live near the park it is a big thing becuase the park is actualy adding something. And why would I not renew my season pass just becuase they only got 2 new rides this year?

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

I am renewing my pass for 40$ so I can ride X =)

And its NOT one of the 6 total insanity rides...

To add on and attack MedusaManiac some more... the waterslides that were removed were falling apart and haven't been functioning for 2 years, so it was basically just useless.

The Shipwreck Falls promises to be themed nicely, and I'd much rather have a nicely themed ride than a couple rides just plopped down with an entrance & exit.

Plus... it has been 2 years in the making. Stupid thing is that this ride was to have been installed in '01, so I am a little disappointed... but I can hope for '03.

Hmmm. I wasn't gonna renew my season pass this year, but maybe I should. It's starting to look good.
To defend myself a bit, first, DawgByteII, we all know how good sixflags "themes" things even if they promise to do so.  If you want a well themed shoot-the-chutes, go ride Escape from pompeii.  I guarantee shipwreck falls won't even come close.  it will probably have like 2 trees planted somewhere around its layout.  And when you break it right down, its still a small, sub-par shoot-the-chutes, and isdefinetly NOT what sfdl needed to add to get back in the game.  DawgByteII, is right about one thing "hope for 2003", but hey, haven't you all basically been waiting since 2000 for another good ride anyway?  Whats another year.
Open mouth...insert foot.
Boy, just want to go to SFDL, where the roses are red and the people crowd into you making you extremely uncomfortable.  I'd rather drive 2 1/2 hours south to Dorney Park than 2 1/2 hours north to a very crowded SFDL.

Kevin is a coaster freak.
MedusaManiac, what do you mean SFDL needs to get back in the game??? Face it....they really probably don't NEED to add anything to get people coming in...they're attendance was up last year and all they added was a gift shop. I'm not saying i don't want new attractions, i'm just saying SFDL is not "not in the game"

Now if they added a coaster the people would come flying in.

...if they added chicken fighting, people would come flying in.

It doesn't take much to get people to come flocking to the park. Offer a "special event" and just put up a few streamers, and they'll flock.

It's not called a "Total Insanity". They're called Absolutely Insane.
