Yes, Deja Vu opens (again)

As all of you undoubtibly know the Ride Deja Vu at SFGAm has been closed starting from Mothers day. But today June 2nd it opened, and get this. It stayed open all day without closing! It's a miricle. There may have been a slight Breakdown but I spoke with some Ride ops at night who said that it never closed during the day. On other rides this isn't a big deal but on Deja Vu it's like Moses just Parted the red sea. I can only hope that it keeps this up through the summer. Also the wooden platform beneath the track between the Cobra Roll and loop adds a interesting Foot Chopper that adds a little Je ne sais quois to the ride (I don't know what).

I was there the last two hours of the night. I'm surprised Deja Vu was open with temperatures sinking into the lower 50's.
Absolutely awesome!!! I can't even express with words how happy I am about this. I know something may happen that may ruin it, but right now I've got some hopes for riding it on Tuesday (finally). I really hope that it can stay open for a while now as I'm sure I'm not the only one with these feelings about this ride. I have my thoughts that this ride may not last for too long, with all the problems they've had, but who really knows. About the je ne sais pas, I took French a while ago, I know that means I don't something, just not sure what the something is, I forget. Oh well, thanks for the info!

Mamba; The inspiration for SD2K. It doesnt get much better than that. Come to the Midwest;and ride the most underrated coaster in the U.S.

Just make sure everyone plans their trips against mine. WHY? Because everytime I go the thing doesnt work. I live pretty close to the park and I have been on Deja-Vu a total of "drum roll please", 0 TIMES, The big goose egg. :)

So if you want to experience DV, just make sure I am not there on that day. :)

On saturday they were testing it from 5 pm 'till closing time, and it worked perfectly. I asked an employee about when it would open and she said "maybe tomorrow". It came true. A new beginning? Lets hope so.

Actually, the phrase is Je ne sais quoi. "Je ne sais pas" just means "I don't know."

Glad to hear about the Monument-it was a topic of much discussion at SRM.

Does anybody know how often Deja Vu rolls back?
Anyone want to wager on how long it lasts? I'll say 3 days.

About once a day, if not more :)

Okay, well maybe not that much, but it is pretty close. i was at SFMM on memorial Day weeken (see TR), and theirs seems to be working pretty good, i didn't see it break down. I really can't speak for SFOG, but to me it seems that SFGAm's has the most problems. But now they got it up and running (hopefully), but when you do ride it, it is AWESOME.

Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

Yes, I need to Take a refresher Course in French. Also if Six Flags can keep this pace up then We we'll all have a marry summer. Also the recording on Deja Vu still says the name really wierd if you've ridden it you know what I mean

Lets hope it doesn't valley again for a long long time. I already made a topic about this. http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=21438

I was there yesterday(June 2nd) and it closed at around 3p.m. for about an hour, for an unknown reason(probally weather, right when a slight rain started is about when it closed). The new Valley platform that you would think would be a huge footchopper, you barely even notice even if your in the front car. It had alot of minor breakdowns throughout the day before and after it closed for about an hour when it started to slightly rain. I posted a video of it on my site listed in my sig, there is also a video of it breaking down once on there too.

Deja Vu up and LoCoSuMo not ready yet......calls for a change in the 100 itinerary.

I cancelled my Monticello Inn reservation this morning. Look for me racing through SFGAM Thursday afternoon.

Coming 6/6/02--the CoastaPlaya 100!
Check Meeting Calendar for details...

I was there On Monday June 3rd it was open most of the day but it was rainining sometimes so they had to shut it down because the cabble slips on the axel wheel at the top so the train can't get pulled up. But I still got to ride it twice due to the low amount of people in the park. It was great int's on top of my list of coasters.

I rode Deja Vu on Sunday for the first time at SFGAm. It looked to be surprisingly reliable! The park was so completely dead (in less than 1.5hrs we did V2, Wolf, AE backwards, Bull, Viper twice, and DV front row) that we only waited like 15mins for DV.

Wonder why SFGAm was so dead? Perhaps lack of anything new, really? Oh well, it was a fun time.

"Hey, what were the 80's like, were they cool?"

You just happened to pick a good day Legendary. The park has been crowded quite a few times since it opened this year. I dont know? Maybe luck was on your side.

I really want it to roll back, just to say I did it.
Ive been to Great America almost every Sunday this year and it has been about the same as Legendary described, most of the stuff was walk on after around 5 in the afternoon and before that there were only about 15 minute lines for everything else. Deja Vu's line was probally the longest in the park the whole day during mid day I would say it was about a 45 minute wait.
