Yeah, that's my problem with WT also - no holding brake. Also, the lack of height on the back tower is disappointing. In fact, I like both the old and new versions equally.

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Rather than start another new thread for *another* coaster article, I'll just put this one here:

Intamin-heavy, Giovanola-heavy, but overall a pretty good list (how something called "extreme" leaves out X2 and RoS @ NE is beyond me, but hey). I'll give it 2.6 stars... ;)
It's just a top 10 err...12 list of coasters. I give it a 1.6 stars... ;)
Any monkey could rewrite info found on rcdb.
Thanks for sharing, Gator. Some of the photos were very nice. I especially like the Voyage photo. What's up with the Diamondback rendering? Couldn't the writer find a more current photo?

^^I guess I gave one bonus star for giving stats and not pretending to be an "article" by quoting a bunch of people we've heard too much from already (or anonymous and untrustworthy internet sources such as MeLovesCP94). Facts and pictures, straight up...
...and regardless of how you may feel about Beast, that first pic is something I only seem to get at Knoebels...sweet wood in the falltime, baby!
If i'm not mistaken WT is the tallest and tied as the fastest suspended coaster of any kind. I think its also the only hyper suspended coaster in existence.

Huh... Who knew that Millennium Force was the '2nd longest U.S. coaster in terms of length'?
It's either the first or 2nd longest STEEL coaster in length in the country( the other being California screamin i forget which is longer), and that's why I always scratched my head when people say that MF is not long enough :)
-Eric: Major Parks: SFNE(homepark), SFA,SFGADV,CP,BGE,BGA,Kennywood, and Sea World: Track record 65 different coasters ridden #1 is Millennium Force #2 is El Toro and than there are all the others
Hmm...they must have forgotten of SOB's existence.
It says MF is the 2nd longest coaster in the country (it's actually the 3rd, behind SOB) and California Screamin' is the 3rd longest (it's actually the 4th). Also, the article lists El Toro as the fastest wooden coaster in the U.S. as 70mph, but SOB reaches almost 80.

Maybe leaving SOB out was done on purpose. I've left stuff out of the articles that I write for the paper on purpose before, as a way to subtly show a kind of disrespect.
I wrote a movie review for The Dark Knight, for example. Not once did I mention Christian Bale. Everything else was covered, and it was a very long review. I didn't have anything nice to say about him, so I didn't even mention him. I bet not many noticed ether.
"Christian Bale? Oh yea, I must have forgot to mention him." lol

That makes a lot of sense, Gator. They could have edited SOB out due to being unsure of when it will reopen, thus saving KI some face.
As far as I am concerned, I wouldn't care at all if the coaster was shut down for good. Maybe the writer has some inside info? Maybe it was a mistake? Or maybe he hated the ride.
