XLR8 Backwards.... Fun?

I think it was last year for halloween astroland was going to put the XLR8 trains backwards. Just wondering, did they? Was it fun to ride a suspended backwards?

Does the World need another vanilla cola?

Astroworld did do this. The last 4 cars of the train were turned around for a different experience. But not the whole train.

This was originally done for the Halloween event, but the park has maintainted it. I rode XLR8 in early August of this season and rode in one of the backwards cars. They only used one train this season as far as I know.

What did I think?

I cannot comment on XLR-8 backwards, but I have been on it, and something tells me that it would at least be a little better if you couldn't see what's coming.

SFMM's Colossus is a very average ride. But for Fright Fest, Colossus Backwards is a fantastic ride. I really enjoy it. You really lose your stomache on the large drops. Since XLR-8 lacks any real drops, I guess it may not improve as much.

SCREAM with me... in 2003!

It's absolutely the most frightening thing I have ever ridden in my entire life! I couldn't even get up the guts to ride the Serpent after that!

For the sake of yourself, don't take anything I say seriously.

They used two trains at some point, because I remember them running 2 trains with good ops during Spring Con.

I think it's better backwards, but still not a thriller. It has the potential to make you nauseous(sp?), though.

If you rode it backwards does it count on your track records as 2? I know its a stupid question but I am just wondering.

I think that most would consider it the same ride, just ridden backwards.

I visited Astroworld back in May and got my first backwards ride on XLR-8.

What was my honest opinion?

I was disappointed. I was hoping the backwards sensation would at least offer an extra thrill of some sort but the ride seemed just as I had remembered it. Slow, and nothing but a series of low hills and drawn out curves.
