Xcelerator noise question

For those lucky ones to have experienced Dragster's little brother, what kind of sounds does that hydraulic launch make? I was just listening to the Wicked Twister song at work and I can still hear that wonderful scream of the LIMs in my head. Does the hydraulic launch make any distinctive noise?

Hmmm...a 'whirring' noise comes from the launch mechanism. Not too loud, but very strange. I think it ended with a little 'snuff' as the valves shut.

You can hear it pretty clearly in Twisted Rails Xcelerator vid. Its a pretty sweet noise.

It's a unique and very interesting kind of noise. Much more "cooler" in a sense compared to those of the LIM/LSM, Pneumatic, or Weight-drop/Flywheel.

The sound is a mix of noises. It is a combination of a gradually increasing whirring noise + an energetic whining noise + other eh...it's really hard to describe.

When I stood right next to the launch I could barely hear anything. I think the screams from the riders were much louder.

Wow, SFNE Freak, thanks for the tip on the Twisted Rails video - took me a while to find it but it was worth it. That sound is amazing, and my jaw literally dropped finally seeing Xcelerator in action too. Is it opening day yet?
