Dutchman, the cylinders I'm looking at are within the 4-pipe track of the launch. My guess is some sort of shock absorbtion system, or a system to raise/lower the launch track.

Secondly, the "cylinders" inside the launch track [Shivering Tim is asking about] will be part of a braking system. After the train launches, a set of brakes will raise up in case the train rolls back or short shots...they act as an anti-rollback per say to keep it from charging back into the station at 80 mph in the event that the train doesn't make it up and over the peak

You're right on the money with your info about the launch, Dutchman.

The whole ride system as a whole on this thing really fascinates me. Simple, yet so not. The anticipation's eating away at me!

Ah, now that makes sense. So it's rollback system is very similar to the braking system on the Intamin impulses: after X passes the brakes drop down to slow the train as it enters station. In this case, the brakes wil rise after the train clears a certain point. Very neat.

Newbie to Coasters - Yes, everything has been taken down (Westcoaster.net) has pics. I assume it has to do with the city...

My guess is that something isn't fitting quite right,(which can and does happen) or The City of Buena Park strikes again. Somebody probably forgot to cross a "T" or dot an "i" on a permit so it's null and void.
