Xcelerator construction accelerates at Knott's

Moving at a furious pace, Knott's has built Xcelerator towards the sky. With the reverse top hat complete, work has moved onto getting the supports up for the two over-banked turns.

1. That little kick to the right after the top hat looks lovely. The little bend to the right and the the twist to the left going into the overbank at high speed is going to be a wonderful nuance, something I wish we saw on more transitions. If I've said it once, I've said it a gazillion times, its all in the transitions. :)

2. The radius at the top over the overbank looks *tiny* at least without the track on there. I tell you what, this coaster is NOT done after the top hat.

3. Its good to see PP is to open sometime soon, probably. When I was down there it looked just amazing all around. Of course, the Log Flume didn't, and it turns out to be the best log flume I've ever ridden outside of a Disney or Universal park.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

2. I noticed that as well. Looks like the standard overbanked angles which means the turns will pull some serious Gs.

For those who've been on Intamin coasters that have the turns above, do they pull a lot of Gs? If so, it's for several seconds right?

On my one & only visit to the States, I passed up on KBF. Definitely not next time! ;)

Yes, they pull a good positive g for a good amount of time. They have to to keep you in your seat. Of course, this one may be a bit quicker because the curve at the top looks so extreme.

Looks like vertical construction should be done in two weeks max. Then all that's left is electical, finish the station, landscape, test, and then we're set to ride ;-) Barring any unforseen complications a Memorial Day opening should be no problem.

After seeing those pictures, Xcelerator looks a lot better with the angles they were taken from. Great Pics!

I just hope when Xcelerator opens another accident won't happen so we won't have to wait a long time for it to reopen.
