John - I'm sure Westcoaster or ACN will have pics...both sites are great for construction updates.

My buddy and I were planning on being at KBF on March 16 just for Xcelerator(flying from Michigan). Does anybody have a complete list of rides that will definitely be down at KBF and SFMM during that weekend? I would really appreciate it, maybe we'll skip KBF and drive to Vegas. Disappointed, to say the least.... :(

Michael - I haven't heard of any park buy-outs at the Mountain but if that's going to happen it *should* be reflected in the park's posted operating hours.

Macho - unfortunately I don't have a list of rides closed for the week you'll be in LA. I do know that Deja Vu, Colossus, Xcelerator, and Splash Mountain are currently closed but I have no idea when they are scheduled to reopen. I wouldn't recommend skipping Knotts for Vegas because one ride is closed but that's your choice. I feel GR and Monty are much better than anything you'll find in Vegas.

YMMV.

I know that Big Foot Rapids was down for re-hab during Solace. Not sure if it has re-opened or not. Generally, the weeks leading up to Spring Break are iffy times to catch certain rides open at Knott's. They use this time to tune up for summer.

SFMM is a crapshoot most of the year for obvious reasons. Your lucky if you *ever* catch all 15 coasters open at once. Even Disneyland will rehab rides this time of year, but you've got a much better shot of catching most of their rides open. We love Disney! ;)

I don't think they've had even 14 of them up since X opened more than a year ago.

Phantom - last Sunday they had 14 open...the only closed coaster was Deja Vu, going thru annual rehab.

I agree with you about KBF vs. Vegas Mamoosh, I just don't know if I'll be able to enjoy myself at the park with a silent Xcelerator casting shadows over me. I know I'm being a whiner, but I don't care. Deja Vu as well? For the love of God! Jeez! Sorry all, just venting.

Has SFMM ever had all 16 open in the same day? Even prior to X and Deja Vu, I never saw all the coasters open in my few visits :(

Peabody, they don't have 16 coasters yet. But your right, I live just a few miles from SFMM, visit at least twice a month and have yet in three years, seen all of their coasters run on the same day. I have heard that it has happened though, but never seen it with my own eyes. Their attitude seems to be, "look, we have 15 coasters, we have so many that if we can't staff three of them, no one will notice".

DWeaver,

I guess I was lucky when I visited the park in Oct. 2001, then. All rides that were "completed" - which unfortunately excluded "X" - were open...even Flashback and DejaVu!

I mean I'm sure it's happened, even if by *accident*. But you should consider yourself lucky, it's a rarity. The again, there are certain coasters at the Mountain I avoid even when they *are* open. ;)
