Xcalibur was supposed to stop mid-ride??

Well, aside from the Deja Vu triplets, what Vekoma rides have really failed to run reliably?

Their boomerangs work just fine. Sure, they tend to valley, but compare the number of valleys to the number of installations and it doesn't seem to be that large of a risk. The Invertigos work a-okay typically. SLCs work. The Mad Houses work. The Air Jumper works. Their mine trains work. Their Roller Skaters work. The ferris wheels work. Their sitdown loopers work. The flyers aren't capacity monsters, but they're operating.

I mean, they may not be the most awe inspiring creations on earth, but they're reliable in their mediocrity.

...it seems like a good track record to me. *** Edited 12/11/2003 7:18:15 PM UTC by Chernabog***

Exactly. And now, after the problems SF had with the Vekoma GIBs and fliers, notice that Six Flags *isn't* going back to Vekoma. SF has written off more manufacturers than I can count. Relationships in the industry are *huge*, and especially so with a company with SF that owns so many properties.

Adam: Did Fabbri just broker the sale of the Jazzland rides? They were all used, correct?

I was referring to the ride package that opened with Jazzland (among others Fabbri's Boomerang, Cataclysm, Wave Swinger, Pirate Ship, etc.). To my knowledge they were new and LARC (http://www.larcinc.com/) was responsible for purchasing rides for the park. They mostly bought from Ride Entertainment Systems (repping S&S and CCI), ITAL (repping Bertazzon, Tech. Park and L&T Systems), Chance and Fabbri.

Ohhh, I see. These rides are still experiencing a lot of problems several years after the park's opening? Wow, I guess I couldn't blame SF if they didn't want to purchase new rides from Fabbri then. I didn't realize Jazzland had so many unique flat rides (at least for an Americn park anyway).
