Xbox Wireless Pad = Bad!

I got a pad for my Xbox (specifically the Datel Wireless Pad Model: XBO800D). It worked for approximately 2 days and then started exiting out the songs before they even started in UltraMix 2. It would just grey out whenever I tried to start a song. In trying to discover a support site for the project, I found that the manufacturer didn't even list the product on their own web site. This leads me to conclude that they're aware of their crappy product and don't wish to provide support. The only real stuff I found from googling was a guy saying that the pad had bad latency for registering his steps and another guy reporting the exact same problem that I have. Thus, I take the time to warn all of you to refrain from buying this product.

On another note, does anyone have a recommendation for a good pad for the Xbox?

Where it says you need 3 AAA batteries for 150 hours of play. I think that means thats all you get. 150 hours. Then it won't work anymore. ;)

I know I wouldn't buy any soft pad without padding in the middle. Try Red Octane's website ... that's where my soft pads came from. Warning though, both of them are sketchy after a year's play.

Metal pad = teh sex.

Red Octane is too expensive, and they don't physically appear to be any different than the made in China zipper pads found all over the place.

I bought an adapter from EB so I could use my made in China zipper pads with the Xbox. Works like a champ, except that you can't use the headset on Xbox Live. Not that one chats while playing.

Geeks just play games... but non-social-retards play DDR.

Most people who play DDR also play a wide variety of other games. See, we're open-minded, unlike some, who see someone playing DDR and can only scoff and ridicule.

I have a couple of those made in China zipper pads for my xbox, but I still find they slide around a bit. I was trying to figure out how to keep them from sliding, maybe putting velcro on the bottom or something.
You can buy a sticky pad-like thing that's designed to hold carpets down. That works pretty well. Doesn't solve the problem of not being able to tell where your feet are, though.

I have the soft really flexible pads like the cheap ones and I just bought one of those computer chair mats. Not sure what they are called at the moment but they have all those little studs on the bottom. Then I put a lot of sticky pads on them and it seems to work fine.
