X2 Magic Mountain

Was on a three day coaster bender and saved X2 for our final ride. After waiting an hour in line and an hour for attempts to revive this demon of a coaster it was closed due to a malfunction. The staff was kind enough to offer us a ride on Tatsu even though the Park was already closed. I have heard that this ride has had many problems in the past but I believe it is well worth it. Hope this gets up and running soon so all can enjoy.

Huh? Shortest trip report ever is among us. Was your phone getting low on charge? How was it worth it if you had a one hour wait with no ride?

We rode the X2 on the first and second day of our 3 day coasterfest.
We decided to have the X2 be the final ride of our trip so that we could
end on a high note. Although we didn't get to take the ride, it was, in my
opinion the most exhilarating ride I have been on.

Tatsu is better IMHO

In my experiences, it is always best to try to ride the most popular and/or less reliable rides as early as possible. You never know when it is going to go down. If you save your most anticipated ride for later in your visit, there is a chance that you wont get to ride it for many reasons, like weather or mechanical reasons.

When we were there in June, X2 wasn't running until about 1-2 in the afternoon. When we got our flash pass, it wasn't running and we were told it opened at about 1:30 the day before. Not sure if that is common for that ride. Because of all of the downtime issues I had heard about the ride and the number of people I know who haven't ridden it because it was down when they were there, we wanted to ride it as soon as we could. Thankfully we got a ride later in the afternoon. Had that ride been unavailable, I probably would have picked Tatsu as the best substitute ride.

I was at SFMM for three days a little over 1 month ago, and now that I think about it, I don't remember any rides breaking down. Maybe I lucked out or something, but Magic Mountain's maintainence and ride reliability seems very efficient.

Quickest Trip Report I've ever seen...good job!
