ACN has posted their video of X, which features over four minutes of on/off-ride footage of the ride. The video is available in QuickTime and Windows Media formats.

I just download this baby in 10 minutes and I was blown away by the clear, consistent quality of the video. The POV clips are much cleaner than the video on Coasters2K. Great Job!
It's the battle of the "X" videos. Karl's was great, the Coasters2K was even better. But this is the definitive video! It actually improves on the first two with some awesome POV. Great job with that first drop!

i think this is a great video of X, and Karl got some great angles of the ride in there...But ive seen all the elements 20 times on each of the X videos so far. Good POV, for 2 elements, but all i wanna see now is a complete POV of the ride...its getting 'boring' seeing the same thing over and over and over again. Im not taking anything away from the video, its awesome! Maybe its cause ive already ridden it 3x...lets see a POV of the whole ride please.

If you've already ridden it, would a complete POV be sort of anti-climatic?

I agree though, I hope this the last video we see of X. After awhile you begin to dull the surprise aspect of the ride by making it totally predictable, which would be deadly for this type of coaster. Still, this one is by far the best I've seen.

I wouldn't go as far to say that this one is the best. Personally, I think it's too long among other things. My chief complaint about a lot of video popping up these days is that no one uses a tripod and it shows when tracking a moving object through a long zoom. The Twisted Rails clip wasn't bad, and at the very least the shooter was a steady hand.

Well it is a bit on the long side, but I'm speaking specifically about the POV which is very well done.

By the way, anyone else notice how slow the ride looks on the turn around section? It's feels anything but slow on the actual ride.

Twistedrails.com had the best shoot.. was not to long, and not to short.. it's now becoming a deal of who's video is better, and the answer is Twistedrails.com, it was the 1st video and the best... why doesn't someone get more creative and stop following in footsteps.. twistedrails.com was the trend setter for X video, and the rest are all mere copycats, IMHO.. :)

This is pathetic. Talking about who had the best video and the worst. Complaining that it was too long or was not steady enough. These people put a great amount of time and effort into these videos. If you dont have something nice to say, you might be better of not saying it at all. Ever think that the filmer/editor has feelings too?

The video was great. I loved the close up shots of the train while it navigated its course and did its flips. It was also nice to see a night time shot of X on video. Great job ACN! You guys always do great work. *** This post was edited by sfmmman2001 on 1/8/2002. ***

The Outsider - Actually, ACN has been following X for nearly a year, and has been filming footage of rides for awhile.  So if we are followng any trend with our X video, its our own trend of adding on/off-ride footage of coasters.

I have no problem watching 3 videos, they could all use improvements in some fields...

... which is where my video comes in! hehe, seriously though,  I like the fact you got the slow motion during the (one) part. I think it would have been useful in other parts as well. POV was a little "odd"....

Just constructive critisizm, they all speant a lot of hard time and work on the videos, I say good for them! Everyone gets credit, but maybe some more than others.

sfmmman2001: Relax, don't do it. (When you wanna get to it?) No need to call anyone pathetic. I agree with Outsider to an extent (God it hurts to say that) in that a lot of "me too" video is bound to draw criticism.

Just a correction, sfmmman2001 did not call anyone pathetic.  He said "this is pathetic", referring to the situation.

You state your opinion and people take offense.. what ever happen to the day's of "sucking it up."

Xbombman- so you've been there since day one with X, seems to me someone has a lot of work on their hands... ;)

Funny, that's exactly what I have been thinking about you "outsider".  ;)

Outsider - Don't worry, I am not offended.  I classify all of your posts as useless information.

I agree. However if people relized that these sites did not pop up just to do a video on X there should not be any criticim. They have all been following X for over a year now. Im sure that they all had plans to do a video for some time now. So how can they be coping eachother? Some people just didnt get it edited together as fast. Thats all.

For example: Twisted Rails and ACN shot their footage on the same day. Karl got his stuff up faster. Does that mean that ACN should not do a video anymore?

It's the same thing, it's still name calling. Saying what you do is pathetic isn't that much different from calling someone pathetic.

Everyone needs to relax a little.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood references make me feel old.  ;)

Do you have stairs in your house?

The battle of the X video thing was just me having some fun. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously as some sort of "who came first" competition. All the coverage we've seen on X has been excellent and apprieciated.  End of Story.
