X-still not satisfied..........

Now that's a "mature" way to look at things. Much better than the selfish, "give me more" stuff we usually hear.

Regardless of the average age of posters out there, and regardless of the foolish comments they make, I do agree with SyntaxError that there is something to be said positive for the youth. At least they get a world highly populated by coasters. How I wish I were 15 now...:)

In regards to X...short or not (and I don't believe it is THAT short) I can't wait to ride it. I have downloaded everything I can about that ride, and God bless me, I am gonna ride it soon!

I'm only 25 and you couldnt PAY me to be 15 again! (though with all the young hoochies around 19 would be pretty interesting :)). That being said, are Raven, B:TR, Hypersonic et al short? YES! Are they too short? NO! A good coaster should leave you wanting more. And in the case of X, with all that spinning and flipping going on, you might have people wishing it ended after the 1st Raven turn! At least let us ride it before determining if the ride cycle is too short.

Same thing goes for Superman The Escape, people complain that its too short and not worth it. How about drop towers? Arent they short? I get a much better rush out of S:TE. I know its a different type of ride but still, they're just as short.

Keep in mind, however, that we are complaining about complainers...which in turn, makes us complainers. Waaaaa!

Ooops! ;)

Yeeee Haaawwww!
I actually applaud SFMM and Arrow for building X as big as they did! Like others have pointed out, for a prototype, it actually should have been alot smaller. I don't think any other company has had the balls to test out a brand new technology on such a huge scale in both height and length(again, look at Stealth, Hypersonic, Oblivion, B:TR, etc.). Go SFMM/Arrow!!!

Personally I'm hoping that, since X is so overbuilt for a prototype, that it turns out to be too intense, and future versions will be tamed down(like newer forceless B&M's)and smaller to accomodate the wild motions and forces this thing will have, and SFMM will have one of the largest and most intense 4D coaster ever built! *** This post was edited by Draco on 8/15/2001. ***
Guess i'm nothing but a spoilt 16 year old brat with no life. Maybe i should just stop replying to forums to not disrupt the older people's train of thought. Good ridance!!! hope your forums are more convinent without me the spoilt brat with no life. Perhaps teens are rude to adults because they (adults) are so presumptious that what they do or say will be bad.

Face it, there is always going to be that group od people that are never going to be satisfied. I hope I never make those types of comments, becasue they do sound so immature. I would be happy if all amusement parks stayed the way they were right now, we have that many good coasters. We should all be THANKFUL that the parks keep hitting us with new, bigger, wilder, and more crazy rides.

BTW, who said that MF's layout is too short? The ride is one of the longest in the world at 6,595ft. and frankly, I think that the ride lasts long. Some really ARE spoiled brats.

Heh heh.

Hey, if everybody was satisfied, nobody would even bother trying to build bigger and better, let alone any coasters period.

But the boo-hooing does get a little out of hand sometimes.

Just to clarify I'm not ageist!! Just a happy hippy who appreciates any contribution to the coaster world, no matter how small, rough, or delayed!!

Perhaps we should just say that the belly-aching is immature and leave it at that. Immaturity manifests itself at all ages.

Thats a very good point, LOL!

"Thank you for challenging the Raging Bull. We hope you enjoy the rest of you're day, here at Six Flags Great America."
Thanks for stereotyping me. I'm only 15 and 10 months. I don't complain about coasters. I don't complain about parks not building a 300 foot coaster every year. I realize that the owners of the park didn't have to put a park there in the first place and I consider it a privalige to go to a park and ride whatever they offer. So in closing, stereotyping is wrong. Just because I'm x in age, doesn't mean I think a certain way.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Being one of the youngest members here (I just turned 13 last April) something like this really ticks me off. Not EVERY teenager thinks the same way, and not EVERY adult thinks the same way, either. Can't we all just get along?

BTW - Sorry to sound so corny ;)

It is better to remain silent and be thought the fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I've been satisfied just looking at X go up. I was at SFMM a month ago, and I think it is the coolest looking rollercoaster I have ever seen in my life, with the huge track and that killer drop. I will consider myself lucky if I get to ride this thing of beauty in my lifetime. The only wish I have for arrow is, do not make clones of this ride. Something like this should have a different layout for all the rides built. X is one of a kind, and should stay that way.
