ugh, SF and their stupid techno music. like in riddlers they think looping 2 minutes of some techno song is supposed to make the wait more tolerable or seem shorter.

I really like the music this time around. It pumps you up for the ride, and this time instead of looping the same song all day, it varies between 5-6 songs. The "Blade" theme is awesome.

Brian, while I totally agree the Riddler queue music can bring one to wits end in about 2 minutes the park uses a number of different selections in the X queue making listening much easier.  And its also not quite as loud as the Riddler music, too.

If you mean the only thing on the Blade soundtrack that doesn't suck, that would be New Order. I actually had that played at my wedding reception. Good times.

X is a coater of the new millennium and it has a style that emphasizes something out of another dimension (no pun intended). Therefore it makes sense that techno music will be played. I personally love techno music and the whole 'new age, wild, crazy, out-of-control' theme of most of the Six Flags rides, but that's just me. I can see how it would get annoying if your'e not a fan of club music, but it is the style of the ride, same with Riddler's Revenge. Yet it is true, Six Flags could do a better job at playing a wider assortment of a themed queue music instead of the same repetitive song over and over.

IMO Six Flags parks just aren't the ones to get all wrapped up in that kind of stuff. Mainly Six Flags just wants to promote their rides and bring in the $. I don't think they pay any attention at all to what music they play in the qeue's, but thats just my opinion. :)

The thing I don't get about park music in general is why they loop the same two minutes of a song when the actual selection is much, much longer.

I haven't been out to SFMM yet so I obviously haven't heard the loop on Riddler but I have the full version of the track (Sash! - Ecuador (Bruce Wayne Mix)) and it's not half bad, ditto for the Moby track that is only looped in part on X-Flight and both would be *much* more enjoyable to patrons if they were simply left in their full version. Most techno/electronic oriented music is fairly long (5-6 mins being a shorter track) and by reducing it to a smallish loop you ruin the effect of the song IMO. That's why I'm glad that CP for instance only uses the little techno loop on MF *inside the station* to keep the annoyance factor low; though I won't even start commenting on some of their in-line DJ's :-)

The Riddler music is awesome! I really wish rides had more music in their stations pre ride.

I would think El Nino by Angelli and Neilson is one.

To elaborate on Jeff's comment....

The "Blade" track is the Pump Panel remix of "Confusion" by New Order. What's funny is that SF probably thinks they are being "cutting edge" by playing Techno music, but this track is quite old. The remix has been out for several years (before Blade even), and the original is from the 80s ! Of course, this doesn't mean it's bad, but they could use something more current. Especially with the wealth of DJs and producers in LA.
