X news?

Since there hasn't been any official news recently about X, and no one will say when it might open, I thought that people who are at Magic Mountain somewhat regularly might be able to share what activity they have seen. I know that it won't give us any concrete answers, but it might lead to some sort of expectation as to if we are at least close to an opening date.

Right before Fright Fest, I saw the trains run twice during that day, both of the times were from a distance so I didn't get to watch it up close. There were also many reports from different people of it running at least once a day around that time.

When I was there on the first day of Fright Fest, I didn't see it run at all, though there was some work that was taking place in and around the site.

The park's phone message currently says "Déjà Vu now open, and soon to follow, X".

It feels like there is less action now than before, but maybe that is just because I don't see the work going on each day.

There is a commercial for Déjà Vu - specific to Fright Fest, which leads me to think that X will not be open for any part of Fright Fest. Either that, or that they will be as surprised about it's opening day as I will be.

What can anyone else add that they know about, or what they have seen going on when they were at the park that might give us all some indication of where the dang ol' ride might open....

Don't expect X to be open so soon. I've heard that there is something wrong with the trains and it will take a few months to fix, which the opening will be delayed. Rumors say that the ride probably wouldn't open till early next year.

There is not a thread like this about "This whole "X" thing", as you say, whatever that means.

I just wanted to know from people that go to the park often, what they have seen. I believe this gives the most accurate information. If the car, or cars are running, that means something, And if you are a local, it's interesting to hear about the actual activity on the ride as opposed to rumors of what is going on.

The same was true with Deja Vu, there were rumors flying around all over here that it wouldn't open till who knows when. But when I actually visited the park and saw signs up that it was opening soon, and that cars were running regularly, I could make a better deduction about what was probably the truth.

I just figured that the people who have actually seen something could have a place to come together and report it, which would allow all of us interested to measure its progress.

This is no big deal, you don't have to open the page up if you're not local, or you don't care. I do, and I was thinking others might too... who knows... let's see.

Well they havent tested X in three weeks. But she is sitting on the station track not thre transfer track which is leaving me to belive they are fixing her. There your SFMM news from Intamin.

From what I'm hearing, X may indeed open this year, but with only one train operating up until early next year. This info is from the same source who first told me Deja Vu would finally open. Still, it's unofficial, so don't jump down my throat.

Don't expect anything until around Thanksgiving.

I think X will open next year and I wouldn't cound on any more 4d at SF parks with all the problems X has and the same goes for Premier coasters and Deju Vu clones.
Hey They bought more Flying Ducthman.

The problem is when they built it, they put one support too close to the track. It's directly under it (when the tracks inverted), so each pass the train made, it scrapped the top (keep in mind, the train is inverted) of it which weakened it. The last time they tested it there was only 1/64" of steel holding it together, and when it came in the station, it split in two and fell off the track.

Get the picture? (note for the layman: there is a meaning to "get the picture" more than the lie I just told)

I want my Hay Bayler back! Forget new rides! HAY BAYLER! While they are at it, why not bring back Tidal Wave too?

There WILL be more 4d coasters, there's "bugs" in any prototype.  Reinforcement of certain track areas is likely after track stresses, etc. have been analyzed.  As the programmers are fond of saying: "Didn't work that way when I tested it on my computer"...LOL.

They will build more 4ds and as far as I know there is only one problem and that was with one of the trains.  So I don't know where you get all the problems when there is only one.
