X-Flight showing signs of age?

LOL. Vekoma and Six Flags. Not a good combination. Why do they keep going this?

Again, there you have another train problem
I agree with loriu -- when I rode it this week, I was pretty sure it was a SMOOTHER ride. This was in the back seat, the same seat I'd ridden 3 times during the commercial shoot.

I still think Batwing seemed smoother, though.

X Flight is So Smooth.
Coaster roughness can also be caused by the condition of the wheels. One of the roughtest rides I ever had was on CP's Gemini, a coaster noted for it's smoothness. Unfortunately, I was sitting on top of a bad wheel. Remember that steel coasters require frequent wheel changes. On Millenium Force last year they often had to pull a train in the middle of the day for wheel changes. While wheel changes that often are rare, most steel coasters only get a few days or weeks life from their wheels.
Dennis, I suggest you try riding Big Dipper in a different seat. Rode it twice on Monday July 2nd and had two of the most fun rides ever. First ride in 1-3 and I was out of my seat the entire ride. I was laughing so hard that I practically ended up in Greg's lap once. Second ride was in the middle of the train not over a wheel. Still some good air and wasn't rough.

Christ how do you kids do it
Dennis ,wood coasters are supposed to be rough, plain and simple.

Is X-Flight any better than Stealth or Batwing?
Stealth hasn't aged well at all. It's faster this year than last, but unfortunately it's rougher too. At least that's my opinion. I'm avoiding Stealth now because it gives me nothing but a rough ride everytime I ride it, and I can't stand that on a coaster. I really hope Six Flags can keep their flying coasters maintained well enough to make it enjoyable for years to come. I'm not blaming PGA for Stealth being rough, it's definately a Vekoma problem all around. Just my opinion.

V2, Medusa and Roar at Marine World: the best coasters in the west!
Just what I feared, Coasterman J. I would hate these (currently) fun and pretty smooth rides to suffer the fate of many Vekomas after a few years of use (older SLCs, etc.), but I'm not terribly optimistic about them staying the way they are.

Mamba, I haven't been on Stealth, but I thought Batwing was a bit better than X-Flight -- it seemed smoother, even though they're the same design, and I thought the setting was better.

Different seats on a train can give you a different ride experience.
