X-Flight Question

Does X-Flight recline on the lift hill yet? If it doesn't, they should probably just give up on the concept. What do you think?
No, it does not recline just yet. I was told that it should be reclining within a few weeks.

o.k. thanks
As far as I can tell all the parts are in place in the curve following the brakes on Batwing, so I imagine they'll both be working soon. I kind of like it the way it works now anyway. It's very disorientating going out of the station on your back through the winding turn. Besides how many rides do you know of where people start screaming before the actual ride? The layback is freaking everyone out.
The motor that reclines them on the lift keeps burning out everytime they test it. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I love when you exit the station on your back. Its fun. Ive ridden X-Flight 15 times. And Yes, It would be differant If they started to recline it on the hill loading times would be quiker.

I actually saw the car recline on the hill once. In its like 3rd week of operation. When I was leaving, I looked at X-Flight. And the car went up the hill slower. And I thought all the cars recline at the same time but they dont. The front car reclines, then the 2nd car reclines. It goes like that. Once the car hits the cencor on the track it reclines that car. It looked awesome to watch...

beltzies64: The motors are on each individual car, not the lift. It doesn't matter where the train is, the motor works or it doesn't. If a motor burns out that train isn't going anywhere but the storage track.

The trains have conductors on either side that slide into electrical busses in the stations and on the lift, a pair for each car. On my first visit, I noticed them actually installing the prox switches on the train that (I assume) trigger the recline. My guess is that the alignment isn't right or there isn't any power to the bus on the lift.

I assume there is some sort of locking system that the motors operate as well to prevent the seats from swinging loose while under the influence of gravity.
I hope that the seats on X-Flight never recline, it makes the whole experience that much weirder when you are lying on your back staring into the sky. Does anybody else agree with me?
The seats have to recline at some point... it would be much better capacity wise if they did this on the lift hill then in the station. Also, how about unreclining after the final brakes while coming into the station?

What if.....
They made it so the cars don't recline at all and you go through the entire ride upside down. SICK huh? hehe, just a thought.

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"
I have heard many different opinions on this ride, with most of them being bad. For those who have been on this ride, do you think it will be a success or the black sheep of SFWOA :)

thanks.

It's a good ride, and dare I even say one of the best rides I've been on awhile. It's just a damn shame that they can't get it running efficiently.

X-Flight is my second favorite coaster ever. Behind MF. Its just a truley awesome experiance. But tips to make it enjoyable, Dont go on this ride thinking its the best in the world. You will just come off saying it sucks. If you ride it, Go on to have fun, NOT to see if its the best in the world! Peace :)

Jeff I completely agree, I was there on a crowded day and they were only running one train, I can understand about operating costs but the line was getting outrageous. X-Flight is one of the best coasters around and its just sad that you can usually only get on it once a day at best.
